How do I purchase tickets?

How much does it cost?

Specific prices are not available through the Heartland Flyer website. Please contact Amtrak at 1-800-872-7245 or visit their website for pricing information.

The price varies depending on how far in advance the reservation is made and how full the train is, as well as any pertaining discounts offered by Amtrak. Children twelve and under qualify for an annual Kid’s Club Membership. Please see the Kid’s Club link for further details.

Does the Heartland Flyer have Wi-Fi?

We currently do not have Wi-Fi on the Heartland Flyer.

Are pets or service animals allowed on the train?

Service animals, including those for comfort, are allowed on the train. Please see the Amtrak Service Animal Policy for specific details. Small pets under twenty pounds are also allowed with payment of a $25 charge. For more information on non-service animal requirements or restrictions, please view the Amtrak Carry-On Pet Guidelines

How much luggage can I bring? Is it free?

The Heartland Flyer does not have checked baggage, only carry-on.

Where is the train depot located in Oklahoma City?

The station is located at 100 E. K. Gaylord, directly east of the Cox Convention Center and on the corner of E. K. Gaylord & Reno.

Where can I go on the train from Fort Worth?

Once the Heartland Flyer arrives into Fort Worth, it terminates. You can connect to the Texas Eagle and go all the way to Chicago and further east; south to Austin and San Antonio; and west to Los Angeles three days a week via San Antonio.

How fast does the train go?

The maximum speed is 79 MPH in Oklahoma and 59 MPH in Texas, unless there is a speed restriction.

Is there food service on board the train?

There is a snack bar on board the train that serves snacks, sandwiches, chips, soft drinks, cocktails, and souvenirs.

Is there parking at the OKC station?

There is very limited, same-day parking at the intersection of Gaylord and Sheridan by the station. There are parking garages in the area, many of which may be covered, that may be a better choice for longer term parking. However, these may charge a fee.

How do I get around once in Fort Worth?

You can get a cab in front of the station and the train station is the central hub of the T, Fort Worth’s bus system. There is also the Trinity Rail Express, or TRE, that travels to Dallas from Fort Worth.

How do I make a reservation on the Heartland Flyer?

Currently the only staffed station on the route is in Fort Worth. You can call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or visit the Amtrak web site at www.amtrak.com and make reservations.  A map of the routes and stations can be found here. On longer trips, where the Flyer is used to connect with other trains, a travel agent may be helpful.
